We love dogs
We’re so happy that you’d like to bring your dog with you to Rivercatcher
As dog owners ourselves, who have looked for luxury dog friendly cottages, we understand that your dog is a family member and deserves a holiday too.
Watching your dog explore new places, find new things to sniff and play in the water is a joy for any dog lover, ourselves included!
Booking your dogs to stay
It’s simple…
Just like human guests, you can book your dogs in during the initial booking or add them afterwards through our guest area.
To allow us to make your dogs stay as special as possible we charge £30 per dog with a maximum of 2 dogs per cottage or log cabin. This allows us to keep Rivercatcher dog friendly and lay on all the extras we can.

The Doggy Code
We only have a few house-rules for our doggy guests, but they are just what you would expect in a luxury holiday cottage – such as not being allowed upstairs, especially on beds. We also ask you to clear up any dog mess from the garden before you leave. We do provide some doggy bags and a doggy poo bin in the garden of your cottage as well as a dog bowl and we also leave a little treat for your four legged friend. Dog towels and throws can also be provided.
Dog friendly pubs & cafes
There are many wonderful places to stop and relax on your dog walking travels in and around Rivercatcher
Bryntirion Pub
This is located in the neighbouring village. This is a Real ale traditional pub with a log fire serving a range food and drink.
The Corn Mill
Set on the banks of the River Dee in Llangollen where rapids race past and the steam trains arrive opposite sits The Corn Mill. This is a great gastro pub and well worth a visit when you go to Llangollen.
Plas yn Dre Coffee House
This is a cafe in the heart of Bala serving a selection of specially coffees, teas, cakes and sandwiches.
Dog walks
Your dog will enjoy the gardens at Rivercatcher and if they enjoy a swim then they’ll love jumping into the River
There are many walks available from Rivercatcher either starting in the Village or paths leading off the main road near to the cottages. There are many places you can let your dog off the lead just taking care to pop them on a lead when you see cows or sheep on your travels. Details of these walks can be found in your cottage with some accompanying maps.
