Our welcome basket contains some locally sourced luxuries to help you settle in and unwind…
You’ll find a bottle of wine, Welsh Cakes, a Henllan Bakery Loaf, Dragon Welsh Butter and Milk, some of Rivercatcher’s own jam, Welsh Coffee and tea from Welsh Brew. And we’ll always keep the cupboards stocked with essentials like local Blodyn Rapeseed Oil and Welsh White Sea Salt.
Rivercatcher Food Packs
We’ve teamed up with TJ Roberts Butchers to provide various food packs that you can have delivered to your cottage on arrival. So you can enjoy great quality food in the comfort of your cottage or cabin.

Where to Shop
Rhug Farm Shop
A short 15 mins drive away located on the A5 between Corwen and Bala. This is an Impressive shop that offers high quality local, Welsh and organic products.
Deli counter with cheese, homemade pies and cured meats. Butcher’s counter selling organically produced meats. Takeaway with home produced organic burgers and bacon. Also “The Bison Grill” produces all its meals from scratch using own award winning meat headed up by Michelin Star trained Executive Chef Chris Harrod.
A Nice Thai Surprise
The village shop in Llandrillo has all the basic supplies as well as a few surprises.
Home cooked Thai food is available and we can personally recommend it. Shop owner Som cooks her Thai delights and you can pick up a selection when you pop in or order exactly what you fancy with a couple of days notice.
Closest Supermarket
When you’re in need of those extra bits our local shop can’t supply a picturesque 15 minute drive will bring you to the Co-op in Bala.
Everything you would expect, groceries and household goods, with a focus on ethical practice including a bakery and a range of local produce.
Further afield the nearest big supermarkets are: Tesco in Ruthin (30 mins), Aldi in Llangollen (25 mins). The nearest Sainsburys and Asda are in Wrexham (40 mins).
Online Deliveries
Many of our guests organise a delivery from a supermarket to arrive close to the beginning of their holiday.
Sainsburys, Tesco and Asda all regularly deliver to Rivercatcher so you can feel confident in placing an order with any of these.
