Things to do this Easter
Easter 2016 - Things to do
Spring is a great time to visit us at Rivercatcher. The daffodils are out, the spring lambs are all around and the nights are lighter…at last! Easter holidays have arrived and we’re feeling good. So let’s get out and do something.
Specific Easter Activities
Never judge a chapel, or a church for that matter, by its exterior. Step inside 17th-century Rug Chapel and prepare to be wowed by its decorative flourishes. Only a short distance from Rivercatcher .
Hop along to Rug Chapel this Easter and participate in an Easter Egg Hunt.
27th March 2016 - 11.00am - 4.00pm
Easter Egg Hunt at Bala Lake Railway
Can you find all the Easter Eggs that the White Rabbit has hidden around the railway? We’ve found one – there are 14 more to find to complete the puzzle and claim your yummy prize. It’s great fun and takes place on every train from Good Friday to Easter Monday.
Nantclwyd y Dre, Ruthin
Hunt for eggs and clues around the garden, find them all and win a chocolate prize! Can you spot where the animals are hiding too? You can also get creative at our Easter arts and crafts table in the Parlours.
Nantclywyd y Dre is Wales’s oldest dated timbered town house. The house was started in 1435 and has been added to, updated and upgraded throughout the centuries. Nantclwyd y Dre has been beautifully restored to demonstrate the changing fashions and the lives of its residents.
Ruthin Castle hosts an Easter themed medieval dinner modeled upon the legendary feasts the Earl of Warwick held at The Castle in the 16th century.
CadburyEaster Egg Hunt at Erddig

White Water Rafting
White Water rafting is one of the MUST DO activities in North Wales. There are a few choices and locations which both offer a great rafting experience. The first choice location in the River Tryweryn in Bala which is natural river controlled by a dam release. Should the dam not be releasing we use the River Dee in Llangollen. This can be booked through us at Rivercatcher but for further details please take a look at the Get Wet Company website.
There are so many activities available in the area and you can find many more on our Things to Do page of the website. We are passionate about the local area and will be happy to help you find what it is you wish to do.
