National Tourism Awards - Rivercatcher
Time to feel proud
I’m taking a few moments away from the madness of running and new business and the madness of being a mum to 1 year old twins to reflect on the past year. I feel immensely proud of what we have achieved at Rivercatcher in such a short space of time and excited about what’s to come. Since opening on July 2014 we have been awarded our Five Star rating from Visit Wales and also been nominated for a National Tourism Award, which we are now a finalist for. This means we will received a gold, silver or bronze award at the forthcoming award ceremony in Cardiff this coming March! In order to get to this stage we’ve had various visits from independent judges and also a day of filming and interview on camera!! Of all the things that have happened this year being on camera was the most terrifying!! Why is it that as soon as someone points a camera at you, you lose the ability to string a sentence together?!? I got there in the end and the film will be shown at the award ceremony, a black tie event in a beautiful hotel near Cardiff, can’t wait!
We’ve had lots of lovely guests stay with us and help make the first half of the year a success; some have already come back to us for a second time already! Our guest books are full of heartening comments and this helps to make us so proud of Rivercatcher.
Keep your fingers crossed for us in March when we find out which award we have won…although any award would be an achievement to be proud of.
Will keep you posted!
