It's getting close to your festive break at Rivercatcher and we'd like to help make your stay as relaxed and easy as possible. We'd love you to shop local and sample some great Welsh food over your Christmas or New Years break! To order your food just click on the link below to take you to our Guest Login area.
T J Roberts - our local family Butchers who pride themselves on good quality local produce have all your essential Christmas dinner items available. Make your order and we’ll organise the delivery to your cottage. As well as these specific packs we can also add extra items of your choice plus all the veg to go with your festive meal, please just ask. Our packs include, cheese boards, antipasti platters, roast packs, buffet packs.
The Rhug Farm Shop is also offering 10% off purchases in their shop which is opening up until 24th December. A voucher will be waiting for you in your cottage or log cabin when you arrive. They have also included 10% off breakfast in the Bison Grill from 27th December onward.

Whats included in your festive stay at Rivercatcher?
You'll receive our usual wecome basket with some Welsh goodies including a few essentials to start you off such as,bread, milk and butter. We include tea bags and a pack of fresh ground coffee and also we provide salt and pepper as well as local rapeseed oil for cooking. We'll add in some extra long foil and plenty of oven trays for all the extra festive cooking you may wish to do. And of course your cottage or log cabin will be tastefully decorated ready for your arrival including a real tree!
Things to do
Llangollen Railway - Santa makes a special visit each Christmas to the Llangollen Railway. Your decorated steam train will transport you in style from Llangollen Station to Carrog (renamed Lapland for Santa’s visit). Santa will give each good boy and girl a special gift on the journey & the adults on board receive a tipple & a tipple from Santa’s Little Helpers.
Trains depart Llangollen Station up until 24th December and then from 26th you can book into the mince pie special until 1st January.
Dick Whittington The puuufect rock & roll party
The cult panto returns with disco frocks, sparkling sets, slapstick galore and the panto puppets. Take a trip with Dick down streets paved with Welsh gold as actor-musicians play your favourite rock and soul songs live! 23rd - 19th January.

Climb Snowdon - Nadolig Christmas
An Open Climb Snowdon day - just in time for the season's festivities... A day's walking on Yr Wyddfa in line with the expected weather and ground conditions - including snow. Join us for a festive walk and talk, festive goodies and fun. They have crampons and winter boots to use, if needed. You just need to bring your warm walking clothes, food and drink, personal walking kit and camera. 22nd December
Tyddyn Llan is considered one of Wales’ finest restaurants with a high rating in the Good Food Guide, and Good Hotel Guide, a Michelin Star (since 2010), and former ‘True Taste North Wales’ Restaurant of the Year. Susan Webb ensures the smooth running of the dining-room. Meanwhile husband Bryan, and his team ply their craft in the kitchen. You are able to book for Christmas & New Year plus days in between. Located in the village and walk-able from Rivercatcher.
Pale Hall - New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner
Open to non-resident guests. A fantastic opportunity to celebrate the new year with fine food, great company, a party atmosphere and spectacular firework display. Champagne aperitif & canapes, Jazz duo, Five-course gala dinner with matching wines, Disco & dancing in the grand hall, Champagne toast at midnight

Our local village pub is open over the festive period with some changes to its usual hours.
22nd & 23rd Dec - 12 til 11pm (food available over lunch and dinner)
25th Dec - 12-2 (drinks only)
26th - 30th - 6pm - 11pm (food available Thursday to Sunday)
New Year Eve - 12pm til late (food served 12-4pm)
New Years Day - 6 - 10pm (no food available)
